TRIGRAM Self-Titled EP Review
This week, we will be taking a closer look to the self-titled album of TRIGRAM, from Los Angeles, the USA. We will talk about the band’s attitude, the music, their mission and the influence.
Metalhead Community Blog readers might remember the band; TRIGRAM. We wanted o take a closer look to their impressive self-titled debut album, which is one of the best albums, and also the best debuts of 2017 for us. We wanted to write another article about it and bring you the secret behind their success. First of all, it was Trigram’s super professional production, and protest attitude that caught my attention. It is a fact that this album is a production marvel, which has a great credit along with many other facts on the album’s positive feedback. As I have mentioned on some of my previous articles, the professional look has a great impact both on the potential listeners and on the people in the music industry. The world is changing every day and rock/metal bands, who are the leaders of free speech in the music field, are not actively interested in this topic as they used to before. Since the 90’s, mass media has even more centralized and taken control over the world. We might feel more independent by the existence of the internet, but the actual truth, as we all know, is a little bit different. Marketing strategies are based on illusions that widen the gap with the reality. And the subjects such as being protest, sensitive or realistic is not that trendy anymore. Even the legendary bands have adapted themselves to these strategies and started writing songs about fantastic, sci-fi stories (Dream Theater) or even worse; Lords of Summer (Metallica), which no one will ever remember what it was about. Sad but true. Reality is difficult, depressing, heartbreaking, suffocating much more than ever, thanks to these gadgets in our pockets.
In my humble opinion, our metal heroes have started their careers with this protest rock and roll spirit, wrote many songs and recorded albums about it. By this attitude, they have become icons. People loved and respected them for being the voice of the common people, the voice of the suppressed. Now I can see the same spirit in this special band. At last, somebody has seen what is really going on and thought about it. They have written four meaningful songs about what is waiting for us all, instead of writing simple love songs, filming videos with naked girls, becoming mainstream and making easy money and fame. This is why they truly deserve our respects and our support. Trigram’s self-titled full protest EP album gave us hope by taking responsibility to create awareness by holding a mirror once again.
The independent band has done an amazing overture to the professional music scene. They show a lot of potential with their meaningful lyrics, music, protest attitude, professional production, look and music videos. These four great songs with their sound quality and production are not only showing the band’s capabilities, talents, skills, knowledge, experience, vision, songwriting skills, or potentials but it also shows how passionate, determined and serious they are in what they do. They dare to challenge the world with their first product. In addition, their harmony, the unity in their band sound is also the vital characteristics of Trigram. You can feel this in every Trigram song, just like their stamp on every tune. This specific sound is also very likely to get more and more authentic in time. This is also very critical. Having a recognizable sound which is likely to get authentic, is priceless. When I take all these into account, Trigram is certainly one of the very few greatest debuts of 2017. We all need to show our respect, and support these gentlemen in this vital mission by buying and sharing their meaningful music.
In conclusion, we, as Metalhead Community Team, congratulate TRIGRAM for their marvelous self-titled EP album, and wish them the very best for their future. Thanks for reading!
